Dilip Joshi was born on May 26, 1968, in Gosa, a small village in the Gujarat state of Porbandar. Dilip is from a Gujarati Brahmin family. Dilip spent the majority of his childhood with his family before moving to Mumbai with them.
His village school provided him with his early education. He then moved to Mumbai to further his education, where he attended Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree.
While studying B.Com, he also did theatre, for which he received the INT (Indian National Theatre) Best Actor Award. He currently resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with his family.
