Pakistan’s foreign ministry has condemned Iran’s recent strikes on the bases of militant group Jaish al-Adl, warning of ‘serious consequences’ and calling the attack a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. The ministry further stated that the strikes resulted in the death of two children and the injury of three girls.
Iranian state media had earlier reported that Tehran launched attacks on Tuesday targeting what it described as bases for the militant group Jaish al-Adl. However, confusion followed after the announcement disappeared, and only hours later, Islamabad confirmed that the strikes were a violation of Pakistan’s airspace.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran and the strike inside Pakistani territory, which resulted in the death of two innocent children while injuring three girls. This violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences.”
The statement also emphasized that terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region and requires coordinated action. The ministry added that such unilateral acts are not in conformity with good neighborly relations and can seriously undermine bilateral trust and confidence.
The incident has raised tensions between the two neighboring countries, with Pakistan warning of serious consequences. The situation is being closely monitored by regional and international actors, as any escalation could have significant implications for the stability of the region.
