Six players and a coach were permanently barred from all NBA 2K League activities on Thursday for violating the league’s gambling and fantasy sports rules.
Zekirri Dennis of Mavs Gaming, Kimanni Ingram of Jazz Gaming, Dorian Earl Miller of Blazer5 Gaming, and Christopher Lafanette of Blazer5 Gaming all wagered or attempted to wage on NBA 2K League games, according to an investigation, the league said in a statement.
Another violation of league rules was that the five players did not report any infractions or assist with the investigation.
Blazer5 Gaming coach Andrew Maxie and player Marquis Gill were both permanently barred from participating in league activities after failing to report violations or cooperate with the league’s investigation.
According to league president Brendan Donohue, the NBA 2K League’s first priority is and will always be maintaining the integrity of our game. We always respond aggressively to violations of the game integrity rules, as well as the associated reporting and cooperation requirements, because we take our responsibility to the competition and our fans very seriously.
