Football players from college only recently began to earn money off their image, name, or likeness.

 Coaching college football has been a lucrative career for many years. It could be more lucrative financially to be fired from a prestigious college.

Nebraska was fired from its coach Scott Frost last month after an ugly start that included two embarrassing defeats. But Frost got the purchase of $15 million.

If Nebraska held off until the 1st of October the buyout would be valued at $7.5 million.

Sure, Nebraska could have cut its debt in half by waiting 20 days however, the university did not think it was worth the wait.

Frost hasn't been the sole coach who has received the huge sum of money for leaving the organization.

Five universities have dismissed their coaches. Collectively, these coaches will earn $56.7 million through buyouts.

Frost is the biggest winner, with $15 million, however, the other coaches are doing extremely well for themselves too. Colorado was fired Karl Dorell after the Buffaloes began the season 0-5
