RAM and Connectivity Features: What the Latest Leaks Reveal
From processor to display, numerous leaks have emerged about the upcoming iPhone lineup, with the latest one coming from Jeff Pu, a technology analyst at Haitong International Securities. Pu suggested that both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus might boast 8GB of RAM, marking an increase from the 6GB found in their predecessors, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. This boost in RAM could result in smoother multitasking performance on the new iPhones. Additionally, if this is true, all the iPhone 16 models, including base, Plus, and Pro, will have 8GB of RAM.
In addition to storage, the iPhone 16 series may also feature Wi-Fi 6E support for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, according to Pu. Wi-Fi 6E uses the 6 GHz band, which allows for higher wireless speeds and less signal interference with a compatible router. Only the Pro models of the iPhone 15 lineup have Wi-Fi 6E support. Pu also suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro models will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 5G modem instead of the X70 used in the iPhone 15 series from 2023. The regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, on the other hand, will continue to use the older X70 modem, while the Pro models will have the exclusive advantage of the faster and more efficient X75.
What Else to Expect from the iPhone 16 Series?
Reports suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may have a similar design to the iPhone 15 Pro, but with some notable changes. According to MacRumors, based on internal leaks from Apple, the new phones could have larger screens, more internal space, bigger batteries, and a new Capture button for video recording. They could also have a new color option and use Grade 5 Titanium for the build.
The screen sizes of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to be 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, which would be bigger than the previous models. This update could be related to the new camera features that are rumored to be coming with the phones.

In addition, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max could have impressive camera upgrades, such as a 5x optical zoom telephoto lens and a 48MP ultrawide camera. These would be significant improvements over the current 12MP sensors. The phones could also be powered by the A18 series chips, with the Pro models having the A18 Pro variant. However, these are all speculations, and Apple may surprise us with something different.
As we eagerly await the official unveiling of the iPhone 16 lineup, these leaks and rumors have certainly piqued our interest. It remains to be seen what Apple has in store for us, but one thing is for sure: the next iPhone is shaping up to be a game-changer.
