In a significant moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Lord Ram, affectionately known as Ram Lalla, would no longer reside in a tent after the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Addressing the audience following the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Modi expressed gratitude and apologized to Lord Shri Ram for the delays in completing this monumental task.
Modi stated, “Today, I also apologize to Lord Shri Ram. There must be something lacking in our effort, sacrifice, and penance that we could not do this work for so many centuries. Today the work has been completed. I believe that Lord Shri Ram will definitely forgive us today.” He emphasized that January 22 signifies not just a date on the calendar but the beginning of a new era.
Acknowledging the lengthy legal battle over the ownership of Ram Janmabhoomi, Modi expressed gratitude to the judiciary for “doing justice.” He drew a parallel between the 14 years of separation during Lord Ram’s exile and the centuries-long separation endured by Ayodhya and the people of the country.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, in his remarks, stated that Ram Lalla has returned to Ayodhya after a wait of 500 years. He praised the efforts that led to this historic day and emphasized the transformative power of the stories of Ram Lalla, believing that listening to these tales would erase sorrows and pains.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath spoke about the positive changes in Ayodhya, stating that the streets would no longer echo with gunshots. He declared the establishment of Ram Lalla as an announcement of Ram Rajya, foreseeing a future filled with Deepotsav and Ramotsav, where the name of Shri Ram’s ‘Sankirtan’ would resonate in the streets.
This historic occasion marks the culmination of a prolonged journey, with the Prime Minister acknowledging the collective efforts that made the construction of the Ram temple possible. The event has brought immense joy to millions of devotees, signifying the end of a centuries-long wait and the beginning of a new era for Ayodhya and the nation.
