Innovations in the health sector are also growing rapidly in India, which has made a strong mark in the global start-up sector. In this sequence, Noccarc, a startup associated with the incubation center of IIT Kanpur, has made a smart indigenous ventilator which can prove to be like Sanjeevani for critical patients in the field of medicine. This ventilator connected to the smartphone is capable of providing real-time information of the patient admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) to the specialist doctor for 24 hours. The technology associated with the smart ventilator has been patented. The Pune-based start-up has also received grants from two central government ministries to boost innovation in the field of medicine.
As soon as you log in to the mobile app, the ventilator will give a complete report of the patient to the specialist doctor at that time. Through the smart ventilator, the specialist doctors will be able to give immediate instructions to the paramedical staff present in the ICU for the treatment of the problem related to the patient.
Harshit Rathod, Nikhil Kurele and Tushar Agrawal, three students of IIT Kanpur, developed an indigenous ventilator in just 90 days, seeing the shortage of ventilators in the first wave of Corona. It has been installed in 650 hospitals across the country.
Encouragement from the center
The project is funded by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The financial assistance was given under the SASACT scheme launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to promote tech startups in the post-corona health sector.
