The highly anticipated 5G networks are rolling out to Indian airports today. The introduction of 5G across India is much slower than expected. The sole providers of the 5G network are Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel and the airports with this technology are a few of the busiest.

The complete layover of the 5G network over India is still a fantastic idea, but commercial zones like Airports are already equipped with the super-fast network. Here are a few selected airports that have been equipped with the 5G networks already:

Kempegowda International Airport – Bengaluru

One of South Asia’s busiest airports in Bengaluru’s International Airport is 5G ready today. It is only available to Airtel customers at present Terminal 2 at Airport is the place to use the super-fast network. “Airtel customers don’t have to change their current SIM as the current 4G SIM rolled out by Airtel is 5G ready.” According to a statement by Airtel. Customers can use High-Definition games, video streaming multi chats as well as instant uploading of photos, and more.

Indira Gandhi International Airport – Delhi

The splendor of IGI Airport in Delhi is typically the first airport in India to be able to accept new technology. In this particular instance, Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi was the first to get 5G connectivity at Terminal 3. The official announcement said that users with an enabled smartphone that supports 5G SIMs will be able to access high-speed internet. The network is available in Terminal 3’s Domestic Departure Pier and International Arrival Baggage Area, both located at Terminal 3. The network will extend from T3 arrivals to multi-level car parking.

Lohegaon Airport – Pune

Another airport in South India to get 5G services up and running will be Lohegaon Airport in Pune. It is the second airport after Kempegowda that will have 5G high-speed networks rolled out to its customers. Bharti Airtel is taking the lead in the race for 5G in India by deploying the technology in eight cities. In addition, airports are included to increase the range capability of this network. It is accessible from any point on the airfield if Airtel’s 5-G Plus capabilities are counted. In addition, it promises to provide 20–30 times faster speeds than the current ones and superior call quality.

Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport – Varanasi

Being proudly Uttar Pradesh’s first, Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport to extend high speed network 5G services for its customers. Bharti Airtel is responsible for this contract as well and offers network capabilities all over this airport. Passengers using Airtel will be able to enjoy the lightning-fast network. And 5G Network is capable of faster downloads and seamless video streaming. Locations like arrival and departure terminals, lounges, boarding gates, migration and immigration desks, security areas, baggage claim belts and parking lots are within the reach of network.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport – Nagpur

Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport becomes the 2nd airport in Maharashtra to offer 5G network’s swift services. Bharti Airtel implementing its 5G Plus will enable passengers flying in and out of Orange City to enjoy rapid services. Passengers using Airtel 4G SIM will also be able to use the 5G network and there is no need to switch the SIM. The flash point is the customers will be able to use high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans.

As the lower latency and increased bandwidth 5G Network is spreading across the country. It won’t be much late to see all airports and commercial zones in India enjoying its’ services.
